7:30 a.m. Monday morning and I'm on the commuter bus on the Hollywood Freeway heading downtown toward my office.  Haven't thought about the place in a week, as last week was a Monday holiday followed by four vacation days.  Truth be told, would rather not be thinking of the place now, but that's not really an option (I've gotten accustomed to eating and having hot water and money to pay the wireless bill).  Just don't expect me to be productive today..

Discovery of the week:  Editing a two-character scene that's been written tag-team style via MSN, Google chat, and e-mail isn't nearly as fun as writing it.  Cleaning up the formatting and making it consistent is headache-inducing.

Question of the day:  How will it be possible to write a three-character scene (one writer for each character) without access to MSN?  Google chat doesn't appear to allow more than two people in a conversation.  And since the scene will be a therapy session (read 90% dialogue) with three participants, we all have to be there alternating comments as the characters talk to each other.  Ideas, anyone?

Downtown now and almost at my stop, so must close.  Ciao!

I'm trying to remember whether Yahoo!Messenger allows multiple conversations... or what about LJ talk, does it allow it too? You could check it out, maybe? I guess that makes more questions than answers, sorry lol

Thanks for the suggestions!

How's work going after that reading of the riot act by the boss a week or so ago? Are things back to normal yet, or are people walking around on eggshells?

You're welcome *g*

And things were back to normal on Monday - the Monday following the Friday, I mean *g*

Let's also thrown in the fact that likely one person in that three way scene isn't allowed to download programs, so this LJ chat thing is also out. But it doesn't seem to work anyway. :-( I have the damned thing installed, and it's supposed to be all simple, right? And yet, nada. -_-

I'm going to have to check out the sites that Jem and callmeri mentioned.

I'm thinking that link I gave you a while back is really a good option there. It's in real time but it's not a chat room, it's a shared document that you access online. You just have to have an account (and as far as I know they're free, not to mention that if you have a gmail account then you can use that same account for the online doc and spreadsheets site) and so do your co-writers, so that you can all access the file either at the same time or at different times. Only thing is that it's not longer called "writely", it's now google docs & spreadsheets. But as far as I can tell, it still works the same and it works great with a gmail account. And using the link I gave you back then will redirect you to the new site anyway, so...

Thanks for reminding me about this! I'm definitely going to check it out. At the speed we write, though, with work and school and three different time zones to contend with, it could be a couple of months before we get from Saturday morning (where a two-person scene is being written now) to the Sunday morning three-way scene.

Btw, after reading about your Work Move from Hell, I'll never complain about my work moves again! I don't even want to think about what that long walk of yours is going to be like when it rains.

Zoho looks awesome... and it looks like no one's heard of it, so Tavi should be able to access it, too. I just hope it does multiple people in one chat... we'll have to try it soon...

Your headline made me laugh; that's exactly how I feel.

Re: work
Well, for a first day back from vacation it wasn't too awful.

Barnes & Noble can't order those two books I want, so I'll either do it through Borders or through Vroman's. This is the second time B & N hasn't been able to order something that other bookstores have no problems getting. All I got when I asked why they couldn't do it when Borders could was a shrug. It's a little annoying.
