225 e-mail messages!

Today is my first day back in the office after having been out a week on vacation.  There were 225 e-mail messages waiting in my inbox this morning, none of them spam.  This is not a pleasant thing to have happen to you *lol*!  Fortunately, a lot of the messages could just be deleted without any further action needed, but it still took me over three hours to slog through all of them.

My boss has scheduled a staff meeting this afternoon from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.  That means we'll sit in the conference room from 1:30 - 1:45 waiting for him to arrive, and then the meeting will probably run until at least 3:30.  And at the end of it all, I can almost guarantee that nothing will be accomplished ....

So, for now, all I can do is say "Hi, I'm here" and let you know that you should go back to using my work e-mail address (see my bio page) if you want a quick reply.  I can't access the Yahoo! e-mail account from my office PC.

Also, a minor correction.  Those references to Carnivale in my post last Friday really should have read Carnivàle.  One of the downsides to using a public computer like the ones at the library is that you can't do any customization (like adding non-English keyboard capability).  I've gotten very fond of my French diacritical marks and missed having access to them while I was away!  (And yes, I know this is very pedantic of me ... *shrugs*).

I wanted to talk about movies and DVDs, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.  For now here's the mini-DVD review:

  • Hard Core Logo:     :-)
  • The Bank:     :-)
  • The Village:     :-((
  • Troy:     Eric Bana and Peter O'Toole:   :-)     Everything else:     :-(((  (Désolée, Morgared!)
