Where are the flags?

I see thousands of cars on my commute to work every day.  This morning I've been looking for cars sporting flags, the way so many of them did five years ago in the days after 9/11.  The count so far, after an hour on the freeways?  Zero.  It makes me a little sad.

And so far the only two posts I've seen acknowledging the day come from women in Australia and Scotland.

I don't know what I wanted, or expected, but this isn't iT.

ETA:  Well, at least the management of my building (one a pair of identical 50-storey highrises) is doing something.  When I walked into the lobby the security staff were handing out rubber bracelets to everyone as they coming in.  They're like the Harry Potter book launch bracelets, but these are made to look like the American flag, with white stars on a blue ground (a little more than half of the bracelet), and the rest alternating red and white stripes.  And the flags on the plaza between the two towers are at half staff.

remembrances
I stuck pretty close to home today so didn't get a chance to look for flags etc. But there's been enormous coverage on TV, much more than in past years. So it isn't forgotten.
