Odds and ends

Things I wanted to say before I disappear for a few days:

(1) I see I'm not the only one on my flist who was sitting on the sofa with an "I don't believe what I think I just saw" look on my face after last night's episode of Lost.  While one bit of that ending wasn't unexpected, the way it happened certainly was, at least to me, and the shall we call it "collateral damage" was a shock.  Just when I think the writers can't possibly come up with anything new, they seem to manage it.  Can't wait for next week.

(2)  Rosie, I'm finally starting to get the work done on that tooth.  Tomorrow is the extraction and the "ridge augmentation" (bone graft); all to be done under local anaesthetic.  With the amount of work I've had done on my teeth over the years, you'd think an implant  would be no big deal, but this is a new procedure for me, and I don't really know what to expect.

(3)  Jen, in Los Angeles the monthly high and low temperatures for June are 77º/60º Fahrenheit (25º/16º Celsius).  I wouldn't necessarily trust it to be that warm this year; we're having a very cool spring.  It will be warm enough for swimming, though (although my sister might disagree).  Also, feel free to pack the Stetson, but the wolf had better be left at home.  ;-)

I guess that's it.  I'm still here today for another three and a half hours, but then probably won't be able to check in again until Monday.  Oh, and if you happen to notice a bit of Italian creeping into my lj posts from time to time, pay it no mind.  It's probably just Silvio deciding he needs a bigger stage than worldaffairs allows.

I hope you're not implying that I can't be talked to when I'm not on the proverbial couch! :-O

I would never say such a thing! *is wounded and cries*

Btw, I saw a wonderful Mother's Day card in the store yesterday, and could just picture you sending it. I think I'll have to buy it and send it to you; you won't really want to use it (I don't think!), but you might like to keep it around for those times when you're feeling particularly frustrated. Actually, from what you've told me, it's probably exactly the sort of card your brother might send....

*leaves you curious and needy*
