Odds and ends

Things I wanted to say before I disappear for a few days:

(1) I see I'm not the only one on my flist who was sitting on the sofa with an "I don't believe what I think I just saw" look on my face after last night's episode of Lost.  While one bit of that ending wasn't unexpected, the way it happened certainly was, at least to me, and the shall we call it "collateral damage" was a shock.  Just when I think the writers can't possibly come up with anything new, they seem to manage it.  Can't wait for next week.

(2)  Rosie, I'm finally starting to get the work done on that tooth.  Tomorrow is the extraction and the "ridge augmentation" (bone graft); all to be done under local anaesthetic.  With the amount of work I've had done on my teeth over the years, you'd think an implant  would be no big deal, but this is a new procedure for me, and I don't really know what to expect.

(3)  Jen, in Los Angeles the monthly high and low temperatures for June are 77º/60º Fahrenheit (25º/16º Celsius).  I wouldn't necessarily trust it to be that warm this year; we're having a very cool spring.  It will be warm enough for swimming, though (although my sister might disagree).  Also, feel free to pack the Stetson, but the wolf had better be left at home.  ;-)

I guess that's it.  I'm still here today for another three and a half hours, but then probably won't be able to check in again until Monday.  Oh, and if you happen to notice a bit of Italian creeping into my lj posts from time to time, pay it no mind.  It's probably just Silvio deciding he needs a bigger stage than worldaffairs allows.

I can live with lows like 16 - that was like today, and it was actually hot in my books. *g* *goes to pack stetson* ;-)

Best of luck with the *shudders* bone graft. *shudders again*

Okay, onto other topics... um... yes... *blinks* How about that weather, eh? OH! And I think I was saying something about us not being able to even muster up a good hockey team, even though our ponds are frozen two thirds of the year - yeah, so Calgary lost to Anaheim last night. Is that embarrassing or what? *hides in Canadian shame*

It is a little odd talking to you in this forum. *g*

Back to Salon V on Monday.

I hope you're not implying that I can't be talked to when I'm not on the proverbial couch! :-O

I would never say such a thing! *is wounded and cries*

Btw, I saw a wonderful Mother's Day card in the store yesterday, and could just picture you sending it. I think I'll have to buy it and send it to you; you won't really want to use it (I don't think!), but you might like to keep it around for those times when you're feeling particularly frustrated. Actually, from what you've told me, it's probably exactly the sort of card your brother might send....

*leaves you curious and needy*

Mille grazie, signorina!

Btw, you know that Silvio will be joining the cast of our little drama, right? Let's just say that following the Moscow Valentine's Day interlude (and I think you know how that ended) we've decided to give him a recurring role in the Switzerland part of the story.

I've been reading the comments over at worldaffairs, so I have a vague idea where the story is going (*sobs*).

Well, yes, I'm not surprised. (And it might be worse than you think.) But I didn't start it this time; vlad_impaler-as-Silvio did the post; I just took over Silvio to respond to Dominique's "consoling" comment, and we went from there. (All the Silvio comments in that post are me.)

Hmmm, we haven't talked about whether the Vlad-Dominique-Silvio Switzerland episodes should be public. I'm inclined to think they should be (the individual therapy sessions -- just Vlad so far) are locked for now.

Well, probably not "public" public, but with the filter that's being used for the Matignon and Moscow encounters.

I'd like to read the Silvio/Dominique/Vlad episodes, if you don't mind. *big, wide eyes trying to look cute and convincing*

We're thinking of posting them in Silvio's lj (jc_of_politics), so you should friend it if you haven't already done so, and I'll make sure you're friended back. We'll just duplicate whatever filter is already being used for the Matignon and Moscow posts that you saw.

Kat's "conversations" with Dominique will probably be done in her lj (cisne_do_norte) and for the moment won't be open to anyone except Tavi and me. (Even Vlad won't be seeing them.)

Good luck with your dental work, I'm sorry but I got a mental picture of Robson when you mentioned it.

Is Jen coming to visit you?

I got a mental picture of Robson when you mentioned it.

Oh, lovely, Rifka! Just what I needed to hear, lol.

Yes, I'm having company again this summer, but it's Jen (jenni_snake) from Calgary, not Jem (crazybutsound) from Lyon.
