Because enquiring minds want to know

How did we live without the internet?

I googled "Put another candle on the birthday cake" and there it was.  The show was Sheriff John's Lunch Brigade ("Yes!" I can hear some of you saying),  the song is called "The Birthday Cake Polka", and the lyrics are behind the cut.

Put another candle on my birthday cake
We're gonna bake a birthday cake
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today

I'm gonna have a party with my birthday cake
Come on and take some birthday cake
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today

We'll have some pie and sandwiches
and chocolate ice cream too
We'll sing and play the day away
and one more thing I'm going to do
I'll blow out the candles on my birthday cake
and when I do, a wish I'll make
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today
........

Put another candle on my birthday cake
We're gonna bake a birthday cake
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today

I'm gonna have a party with my birthday cake
Come on and take some birthday cake
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today

We'll have some pie and sandwiches
and chocolate ice cream, too
We'll sing and play the day away
and one more thing I'm going to do

I'll blow out the candles on my birthday cake
and when I do, a wish I'll make
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today
Happy birthday to you
I'm another year old today.

Two links: one, too [sic]. You'll see. (Yes, how did we live without the internet? ;-P)

If my first exposure to WA had been crawford_texas, I'd have gone away without leaving a comment, and never come back. I don't know about you, but I don't think it's either clever or funny.

As for Arnold, well, I'm stuck with him for real. It's quite funny when GWB comes to California; Arnold, who disagrees with the Republican administration on a lot of things, makes a point of avoiding Bush as much as possible.

Really? I thought it was amusing. *shrug* Perhaps because he never actually tried to say anything in WA, just wrote amusing quips.

That is amusing, though - a non-Republican Republican. ;-)

No, I'm not bored, I'm investigating... so I was very interested to find out that Sherrif John also recited, for the education of his young viewers, the Pledge of Allegiance. Hmm...

I like the advice section: For don't run with scissors: "I could fall down and spoil my fun." Which leads me to ask what exactly 'my fun' might be, and in what sort of way it would 'be spoiled'... *giggles and digs mind out of gutter*

And, because I'm in an educational mood, I will show you how to make an embedded link (unless you already know and are being lazy, in which case I will merely scold you for your laziness!).

To make the above look like this:

If you're feeling nostalgic, you can go find out more about Sherrif John's Lunch Brigade at TV Acres.

the encoding looks like this:

If you're feeling nostalgic, you can go find out more about [a href=http://www.tvacres.com/child_sheriff_john.htm target="_blank"]Sherrif John's Lunch Brigade[/a] at TV Acres.

Just replace the [] with <>. The basic code is [a href=http://www.whateverwebsite.com target="_blank"]Whatever You Want The Link To Be Called[/a] The little extra target="_blank" will open the link in a new window when you left-click on it, a nice courtesy that I don't think enough people use.

Oh my lord, I am bored. And that rhymed. Things are getting desperate. Hope that you're not still in the meeting, and pitying you immensely if you are! :-(

I came out of the meeting wanting to do murder. I sent you an e-mail.

Kat made a journal entry, which technically precedes your post. Speaking of your post, she'll reply tomorrow.

Gained weight, huh? Well, I suppose meals are just meals now, with no distractions (*weeps*), so he actually manages to eat something.

I saw it. What happened?!?

(He gained weight because he hasn't been practising judo - AND BY THAT I DON'T MEAN WHAT IT HAS COME TO MEAN SO JUST GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!!! *ahem* What I mean is that he hasn't been in the mood to practice his favourite sport... (the real sport, not the... oh my God I'm going to kill Tavi for this...))

Will tell you about the meeting tomorrow.

You want to know just how depressed I am (from the sunken ship, not from work)? I read the comment about not practising judo exactly in the way you meant it. There wasn't even a bit of "judo = " there. :-(

*is beyond sad*

(Oh, and did I reply that the paper in the notebook is probably exactly what you think it is?)

Tavi has also given me a tutorial on embedded links, but I never have my notes on the coding available when I need it. I'm not promising any better luck this time, but I'll try.
