*melodically* "Oh, Rosybug..."

*hangs head in shame*

I'm so bad.  I meant to do this post first thing this morning, while it was still the 24th where Rose lives.  *sigh*  But I ended up channeling Silvio Berlusconi instead, and then there was work to be done...   *brightens*  But it's still the 24th where I live, so maybe I'm only semi-bad.

Anyway... *clears throat and sings*

Put another candle on the birthday ... cheesecake
the birthday ... cheesecake,
the birthday ... cheesecake;
Put another candle on the birthday ... cheesecake,
I'm another year old today!

(A lot of you saw that coming, didn't you?)

Rose, I hope you had the happiest of days yesterday, and that the year ahead will be filled with good things.

Personally I thought it was brilliant, Karen. I'd never thought of it *g*. I want some cheesecake!

Do you remember where the "Put another candle on the birthday cake" song comes from? Probably some kids' television show that we watched way back when, but for the life of me I can't remember which one. Now of course, the song having popped into my head, I can't get rid of it (or its cheesy variation).

I don't know if I know that tune, but the tune that it suggested to me and that I am singing in my head, I also don't know if I will ever get it out...

I used to watch 'Romper Room', 'the Shari Lewis & Lambchop'show and 'Ding Dong Bell'. How I just pulled all of those out of my brain on a first cup of coffee amazes me, but I don't know the tune.

'It's a Small World' is one that gets put on replay often.

It was Sheriff John's Lunch Brigade. And remember The Howdy Doody Show?

Didn't know the Brigage show, do remember Howdy Doody though.
It's Howdy Doody Time!

What about the Lew King Show?

Thanks, Karen! *hugs* Sorry I'm so late replying. I've been a hermit recently and only realised you left a post for me when Rifka told me to look! i have an energy slump in April, but it's nearly May, so I should soon be back on track.

I've never heard the song, but it sounds great, with all that cheesecake! ;)

Wow, your cat in the icon looks almost exactly like Bastie. he would have that expression if I made him wear a hat. He get quite shirty if I dress him up in gauzy bows, even if I tell him he's very pretty.

The kitty (her name is Harley), belongs to my friend and neighbour Sarah. The party hat is a hand-beaded Sarah original (there's also a Santa hat that Harley, wearing her most long-suffering look, models at Christmas.

Hope you had a lovely birthday, and that you get your second wind soon.

Thanks, Swan, I will. Love your icon. I found a whole lot of moomintroll icons the other day on that icon site you recommended me to look at.
