Package!

Thank you, kleio_caissa!  The package you sent was waiting on my doorstep when I got home last night.  Between your book of Bushisms, and the book of Putin quotes I got for Christmas from Jen, my reading choices will certainly be interesting ones, lol.  Chloe, of course, says ... well, whatever the cat equivalent of "pshaw" or "tcha" is ... and directs me to read the book of feline wisdom before doing anything else.  :-)

I can't believe the Getty brochures finally arrived!  I mailed them months ago (October, I think).  Still, at least you got yours.  The set I sent to Ukraine never did make it to Jen.  Or maybe it did, and was appropriated by someone else (the Christmas card I sent her was pushed under her door, sans envelope-with-U.S.-postage-stamps).

Btw, if  when I write to you, do you want the mail to go to Hope Street, or to Stonehaven?  (Nothing embarrassing, I promise).

Thank you for your lovely parcel which arrived a few days after i returned to work. I emailed you directly, but have been beset by technological problems, so my message might not have gove through!

If I were ever to send you something, can I send it to your home address?

Rosy, I did get your message, but in the madness of work it got buried under a ton of other e-mails and never answered. I do apologise!

Yes, my home address is fine. Packages are routinely (and safely) left on people's doorsteps.

Hope we'll be seeing you around LJ a bit more now.

Me too! We've been having a lot of power failures here which can last several hours at a time and more are expected. *sigh*

Any chance we'll be seeing more of the cheese story in the near future?

You have a one track mind! :)

We've been wading through RL stuff for weeks, Ronnie, Jean and me, so we're only half way through writing Part 4. But we'll get there.

Actually, some people would say I've gotten totally obsessed with the Vlad/Dominique story that's being written as an offshoot to worldaffairs. I'm still interested in Chris and Toby, though; it's just that I don't see much new Oz fic being written, and most of the WIPs seem to be dormant. The cheese story is about the only thing that seems to be making any progress, which is why I keep asking about it.

LOL! And it's not making very fast progress either! We'll have to get moving again.

I've started posting another multipart story at my LJ too. It's unbeta-ed, but I've found it quite satisfying to write. It follows on from my long "Settling the Bill" story last year. I've put up the first three parts and there'll be more to come.

I still use the Admin stories you introduced me to as the measure of all things! I wish there were more of those.

It's been almost a year since my flist was going crazy over the Administration stories. Hard to believe so much time has already passed. I should reread the series one of these days.

Re: finally!
To begin your LJ education ... at some point you're going to stumble across something that has "GIP" in the subject line. This stands for "Gratuitous Icon Post", which is a post made for the sole purpose of showing off a new icon. The content of the post might be as simple as:
