I told them to get couples counseling

Don't worry if this makes no sense to you.

Just for the record, if France or Russia blows up in the next few days, or there's a brawl on the floor of the U.N., don't blame me.  I told them to get couples counseling.  And I'm really sorry for those allusions to hair and height.  Who knew world leaders would be so sensitive?

I loved hearing "Hallelujah" at the end of last night's episode.  Does anyone have any idea how many shows have used the song now?  My personal favorite is still the last Mark Harmon episode of West Wing.

Who sings that anyway? It's beautiful. (but the epi was a bit of a downer for a season opener, no?)

I think they used the Jeff Buckley version. It's also been done by Leonard Cohen (the original version), k.d. lang, and Rufus Wainwright. It's possible there are other version I don't know of.

I actually found the final episode of Season 1 harder to watch (when House is telling that class the story of his leg and one by one you see his colleagues coming in to listen).

Yeah... that was Three Stories. Nominated for an emmy and written by the showrunner. The difference I found is that Three Stories had such an interesting narrative frame that it really made the revelation poignant rather than painful. Last night was pretty depressing. For me, I'd rather see that kind of stuff at the end of the season rather than the beginning. It was great nonetheless, but even with the makeup it looks like they're setting Hugh up for alcohol as well as Vicodin abuse and some kind of spiral. We'll see...
