Thank you, Maggie!

maggie33, I mentioned the DVD you sent me in my earlier post today, but I never actually said "Thank You!".  It may take a little while before I can watch it (see earlier post for complicated reasons why), but I'll be looking forward to it.  :-)

You're welcome
Uhhhh... Damn.... I've forgotten about DVD regions. Actually, not really forgotten, just haven't thought that your DVD could not be "region free". Well, maybe I've even thought about it and then I've thought that you probably could watch it on your computer anyway. And you don't have one. Grrrrr.... I so wanted you to see that movie. *tries to think of solution* Maybe you could borrow region-free DVD from somebody? Or even buy a new one? You can find one really cheap here in Poland. Not from one of the famous companies like Phillips or Sony, but, you know, from an unknown firm. Mine is from one called Manta, never heard about it, but the DVD player is region-free and works very well. And it was cheap. :)

Re: You're welcome
See, I thought crazybutsound's offer to show me how to tinker with my DVD player to make it region free was all I'd need, but that was before I knew about the PAL and NTSC thing. The back of the DVD case for the film you sent says "PAL" very clearly (it's one of the few things I can read, lol), so nothing I do to my existing DVD player will let me watch the movie. I'm just going to go out this weekend and see about buying a second DVD player that's both region free and can convert PAL to NTSC. Then I'll be able to watch anything.
