Ching Ching!

Here's the answer to your question, desert_rifka.  AT & T charges $3.36 per minute for direct-dialed international calls to France.  It's the standard rate; apparently there's no such thing as weekend or night rates on international calls.  (The call on the bill I received yesterday was placed on a Sunday morning.)  Then there's also a connectivity charge (calculated at 11.1% of the total interstate and international calling charges).

Can anyone tell me why this emoticon is smiling? There's a certain disconnect here ....

I HATE AT&T. They are financial rapists. I call overseas all the time and use a dialaround service called Cognidial (www.cognidial.com). Love it. The prices to France range from 8 cents to 10 cents a minute. I've got it arranged so I have both a calling card and an access number tied to my phone so I can use my card from anywhere.

Wow! I've got to look into this. The particular call that was on yesterday's bill was 123 minutes; you do the math and you'll understand my reaction, lol.

You'd love Cognidial. Never had a problem in 3+ years. You get your bill online. I pay about 10 cents/minute to Australia and they bill my credit card. You establish a max limit up front for security. Only thing you need to get is the contact numbers for customer's service written down because sometimes there are glitches with the computer and they say you're account's overdrawn when it isn't. Anway... if you ever have any qs about it, let me know. I'm the international dialing queen!!!

Oh dear. Ouch. I'm not sure how much I will be paying for last time myself but I'm hoping it'll be a better rate. I'm sorry darling. Sucks that France is so far away, uh?

Yeah, I thought about you when I saw the bill, because your call to me was also just about two hours. I do hope you get a better rate! My call to Aline falls into the next billing cycle and was under an hour, I think; I'm just glad they both didn't turn up on the same bill. I'm definitely going to look into the service doctorevel talked about in her comment.

Any news about Neville?
