Finsbury Park

Okay, mark this one down. It's different. London has now suddenly found itself at what might be the beginning of a tit for tat, Israeli - Palestinian situation. And if that turns out to be true, then there's no answer to the question posed in my icon.

Nah... the guy asked the imam and congregation, who had immobilised him, why they weren't killing him. They answered "why would we?"

There are crazies in every community, and the leaders and media who whip up hatred would have a very heavy burden on their conscience if they had one, but this is not and never will be a civil war.

If Brexit spells the end of the good Friday agreements that'll be another matter mind you.

Oh, I never meant it would start a civil war. But all you need is one young Muslim crazy to do something in revenge for Finsbury Park, and then one young non-Muslim crazy to do something in revenge for that, and you just start a chain reaction of little one-off things that end up making everyone feel unsafe.

Ireland/Northern Ireland is worrying. I think it will be even more worrying if May somehow manages to do her deal with the DUP, because then you lose all semblance of neutrality. :-(
