Reaction to Theresa May

An article on bbc.com today talks about European reaction to Theresa May as the newly-anointed Conservative Party leader and Prime Minister. I especially like the reaction of Barbara Wesel:

The Brussels correspondent of the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle believes that while Mrs May inherits an unenviable legacy from her predecessor, she is an experienced enough politician to be able to ride out the storm. Barbara Wesel says: "At least Britain and the rest of Europe now get a professional politician, not a fanatic. That is in itself good reason for being a little grateful."

That quote sounds like my dream for the US, too--except in our case, we're hoping for a pro rather than a loony windbag.

Republican Convention next week, and Ohio is an open carry state. Won't that be fun.... :-(

I think I would want to take a little vacation if I lived there...especially since there's a big movement to unbind the delegates, and I can't imagine the responses of Trump supporters if that happens. Traveling to another country might be the best idea.

Get a message through to The Donald that you're sorry to miss the convention, but that you'll be going to Mexico to check out locations for the wall. He might even lend you his jet in addition to paying your expenses. :-S

A friend of mine passed along the theory that Theresa May was Margaret Thatcher's final horcrux...

At this point I'm not ruling anything out!
