Swan rampant

Dear Flist,

If you enjoy clever writing and pretty pictures, please go check out the latest picture post from dominiquelechic. It can be found here: http://dominiquelechic.livejournal.com/22001.html#cutid1

You don't need to know a thing about French politics to enjoy the post, although the following might be helpful: Dominique de Villepin (Prime Minister) and Nicolas Sarkozy (aka "little worm") (Interior Minister) are political rivals on the right. Thierry Breton (he of the cat/hair) which is quite clear in some of the photos, is the Finance Minister. François Hollande may be the Left's candidate for President.

There. Now go and read and be amused and look at the eyecandy (well some of it is eyecandy), and if you enjoy it, do leave a comment for the writer. She works really hard on these posts, and I think she deserves a wider readership.

Okay, off to bed now, and will be sleeping in tomorrow as it's a holiday and I don't have a writing date with anyone but myself.

*sigh*

Would my flist buy a used car on my recommendation? Apparently not. Apparently my powers of persuasion really suck, based on the dead silence that greeted my last post. (And yes, I also went over and checked dominiquelechic's lj and found the same three comments to her picture post that were there before I tried sending you guys over to take a look. So I guess it's a really good thing I don't have a job involving sales, isn't it?

In other news, I'm typing this entry at 7:15 a.m. on a holiday Monday (Columbus Day for you non-U.S. types). I went to bed at 2:00 a.m., telling myself I could sleep in because of said holiday (and also because it's the start of a week of vacation for me), and I didn't set the alarm. So what happens? I wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, as the saying goes, at 6:30 a.m. *headdesk*

*tries to look on the bright side* I've been saying I wanted to roll up my sleeves and tackle some housework (the newspapers and magazines have been at it again and are threatening to take over the entire living room), so I guess today is the day to do it. And then perhaps I'll treat myself to movie this afternoon. Okay. See you all later after a shower and some coffee. *blows kisses*

Note to Tavi: Jen was apparently in Paris partying Saturday night, which is why there was no answer when I tried calling her at 11:30 p.m. her time.
