Apologies and Thanks

People, work has been the day from hell, so I've only been out to read in alinewrites and crazybutsounds' ljs (and only because they told me to.)  So, if I should have responded to anything from anyone else, hopefully I can do it on Monday (assuming that's not day from hell, part 2).  In the meantime, everyone should go read the last chapter of Aline's "My Life As A Foreign Country".  She gave me (and more importantly, Chris and Toby) a happy ending.  :-)

greedy_dancer ?  After your comments about the card, I went home and looked in the box you'd sent the Tim Tams in.  Sure enough, it was there, wedged into the top of the box, with the silver colour blending in so you wouldn't notice it.  I'll be eating the rest of the Tim Tams in the proper fashion, lol!  (And I haven't tried the spicy ones yet, but am betting I'll love them; there's a candy company called Vosges that makes a chocolate bar I adore called "Aztec Fire" -- spices, chiles, and chocolate.)

Thanks to babycakesin and morgared for your e-mails.

And thanks to desert_rifka, who's gone short of sleep this week on my account.  I won't forget it.</span>

alinewrites ?  No Post Office today.  Hopefully on Monday.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Re: Was it your birthday?
Hi! Thanks very much for the birthday wishes (and I see you'll be in line for some yourself very soon). I'm delighted you've friended me, and I'm returning the compliment. I took a look at the interests you have listed on your bio page, and oh lord, I could probably talk to you about most of them (and maybe we will, eventually). But anyone whose list could combine (just to select a few) Quentin Crisp, Vangelis, Narnia, Babette's Feast, Hero, Edmund Gorey, the green man, Tolkien, and one of the Durrells (although for me it's Lawrence) is clearly a person after my own heart! :-)

Varied interests...
Hmm, my interests do look rather variegated, when you put them like that! :) After I saw Noblerot's interests, I realized I could think outside the box of "reading, writing, seeing movies" and actually put down what I like!

I like Lawrence Durrell too, but Gerald was my first love! Did you ever read Lawrence Durrell's Antrobus stories? I never realized how much I learned from Quentin Crisp, until I re-read his *Manners from Heaven*. *Babette's Feast* showed me something about my own upbringing in a very amusing way and I think *Hero* is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Have yet to see *Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon*.

Quite happy to discuss our shared interests!
