Belated film post

Here's the "Films Seen in Cinemas in 2010" post, just the teensiest bit late. I'm only listing the English titles of subtitled films this time.

  1. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
  2. North Face (German-language)
  3. The White Ribbon (German-language)
  4. Ran (Japanese-language) (25th anniversary re-release)
  5. A Prophet (French-language)
  6. The Ghost Writer
  7. Green Zone
  8. Alice in Wonderland
  9. The Secret in Their Eyes (Spanish-language)
  10. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Swedish-language) (twice)
  11. The Father of My Children (French-language)
  12. I Am Love (Italian-language)
  13. The Girl Who Played with Fire (Swedish-language) (twice)
  14. The Kids Are All Right
  15. Patrik, Age 1.5 (Swedish-language)
  16. The Concert (French/Russian-language)
  17. The American
  18. Never Let Me Go (twice)
  19. Catfish
  20. The Town
  21. The Social Network
  22. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Swedish-language)
  23. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (twice; once in Oxford)
  24. Black Swan
  25. The King's Speech
  26. The Fighter

Looking at this list, I'm struck by the number of foreign-language films I saw last year, and I'm reminded of how lucky I am to live in a city where the ability to do that is taken for granted. Sometimes a Netflix DVD just isn't enough.

The film I loved the most was Never Let Me Go. Did anyone reading this see it? Did anyone read the book?
