Thanks!

Suggestions duly noted and added to the list. I have a feeling that I'm going to be spending my post-conference-sessions evenings in Las Vegas working on the Oxford/London itinerary. There shouldn't be too many distractions, as the hotel where I'm staying is non-gaming (but with a secret door that lets you into an adjacent hotel if you care to try your luck at the slot machines (do they still call them "fruit machines" in Britain?) or table games).

Glad to know your poppy survived (but they're made if plastic, so I shouldn't be surprised!). Try to get one in the UK, I've always wondered how they're different. Oh, and there's an art gallery with some "European masters" at the Bellagio. Vegas is a weeeeird place!

Weird indeed.

I didn't make it to the Bellagio. Spent Sunday afternoon checking out the Palazzo, the Venetian, and Caesar's, and that was all the walking and window shopping I could handle. I'm staying clear at the other end of the Strip at the Four Seasons (part of the Mandalay Bay complex). It (the Four Seasons) is an oasis of calm; no gaming at all, and nothing to indicate that you're in Las Vegas.
