Just a quick post to get messages out to some people.

tobyfan :  I found the CD and your note in my mailbox when I got home from work last night.  Thanks so much for putting all this material together for me.  Since I don't have an office door to close now, it's going to take a bit of planning to figure out when I can take a look at the music vids and the other clips.  Somehow I don't think the powers that be would look kindly on me if Oz or B/K suddenly appeared (complete with sound and music) on my computer screen in this nice open-plan office layout!  Well, this will give me an incentive to get up early tomorrow or Friday and get in to the office ahead of anyone else on the floor.  Or maybe I'll just come in over the weekend when I know there won't be anyone around.  ;-)

crazybutsound :  I'm still watching my mailbox.  In the meantime, I found the perfect card to make you feel better about last week's aol address book snafu.  I'm putting it in the post today.

alinewrites :  I just finished a long, sad, beautifully-written Kat Allison DS story called "The End of the Road".  (Nobody dies in it, but ... well, I won't say more in case you want to read it yourself.)  The memory of this one is going to linger for a while, so I decided to set DS aside for now and take a look at that story Portia recced to you and that you seem so enthusiastic about.  I only made it through the first three chapters on the bus coming in this morning; I left T and W after their little ... conversation (but dance is the word that keeps coming to mind) ... at the after-lecture buffet.  It's certainly a promising start.  Oh, and before I forget, just in case you haven't seen the TS list since you answered me there about "Acciaccatura"; well, your idea of throwing in the towel on that fic isn't being received very well.  Go look for yourself.  ;-)

"The End of Road" and it's follow-up "Solstice" can be found at:

(And Celia, if you're reading this, here's the Carnivàle icon that crazybutsound made me.)

Ah, yes. Well, I went to post some stuff today and enquired about last week's mail because it seemed that none of my stuff had made it and I was told they had some kind of strike thingy and were about a week late in sending out packages. Which of course, I told them I was very mad about. They said they were very sorry, which made me even more annoyed so I asked how I could file a complaint as it's not the first time I've had some problems with this particular post office. Next time I send something, I'm going all the way to town to post because this particular office sucks major ass. Grrrr.

D'you know they delivered some of my own mail a week late, too? Bills and such? Which could cause me to have problems with the companies I owe money to? I am sooo majorly pissed off right now, you have no idea. *sigh*

But yes, do keep an eye on the mailbox and keep me posted. :-)

Anyway, I don't when it left/will leave as they wouldn't tell me, but hopefully it didn't get lost entirely. *is mad*

No problem. I just didn't want you to think I'd received it and failed to thank you.

Btw, I hope they're delivering your mail on time again. I'd like the Easter Bunny's package to arrive before Easter, not after. (That was supposed to be a surprise, of course, but under the circumstances ....) *sigh*

End of the Road is heartbreaking and gorgeous! I remember reading that when she first posted it. *sniff*

Glad you got the disc okay. Hope you get a chance to watch and listen soon.

I accidentally read "Solstice" first, so once I started "The End of the Road" I knew how it was going to end. Knowing didn't make it any less painful, though.
