Has anyone seen the flim Indigènes? It's just been released in L.A. in time for the Oscars (it's Algeria's nominee in the Foreign Language category); it's being called Days of Glory over here. If you did see it, what did you think of it? I understand that the film actually had a political impact in France, with the government taking action to rectify the pension situation of the colonial veterans. Wouldn't it be nice if the Al Gore documentary An Inconvenient Truth spurred the U.S. government to finally take steps to combat global warming. I'm not going to hold my breath, though.
I need to see both Indigènes and the German nominee The Lives of Others before the Oscar telecast tomorrow night.
